ISSPA 2007
marks the 20th anniversary of launching the first ISSPA in 1987
in Brisbane, Australia. Since its inception, ISSPA has provided,
through a series of 8 symposia, a high quality forum for
engineers and scientists engaged in research and development of
Signal and Image Processing theory and applications. Effective
2007 ISSPA will extend its scope to add the new track of
information sciences that includes areas such as information
security, cognitive systems, and geoinformatics. Hence the
intention that the previous full name of ISSPA will be replaced
after 2007 with the following new full name:
International
Conference on Information
Sciences,
Signal
Processing and
their Applications.
ISSPA 2007
organizing committee plans to mark the 20th anniversary of ISSPA
by producing the best ISSPA to date in terms of organization and
technical contents. For example, it plans to actively involve 50
leading IEEE fellows in the planning and delivery of the
technical contents of the conference including panel sessions,
plenary presentations, tutorials, special sessions, and
technical session chairing.
ISSPA 2007
will be co-organized by the University of Sharjah,
the American University of Sharjah,
and
Etisalat University College.
The conference will be held in Sharjah which is a prominent
cultural, artistic and educational center in the United Arab
Emirates and the region. The conference venue will be about 30
minutes from Dubai which is a major center for tourism, trade
and industry and is the fastest growing city in the region. The
timing of the conference will coincide with the 12th Dubai
Festival which is a major event in UAE and the region.
The
regular technical program will run for three days along with an
exhibition of signal processing and information sciences
products. In addition, tutorial sessions will be held on the
first day of the symposium.
